Our Story

THE ORIGINS OF THE NAME FAIDODOS ARE STEEPED IN HISTORY AND CULTURE. THE TERM "FAIS DO-DO” ORIGINATED IN FRENCH MEANING "GO NIGHT NIGHT," WAS LATER ADOPTED BY FRENCH CAJUNS IN NEW ORLEANS AS A SLANG TERM FOR DANCE PARTIES. THE PHRASE ENCAPSULATES THE IDEA OF PUTTING KIPS TO BED BEFORE THE ADULTS CAN GATHER FOR A NIGHT OF REVELRY. HUNTER, ONE OF THE OWNERS, HAS A DEEP LOVE FOR NEW ORLEANS, DRAWN TO ITS MUSIC CULTURE, ARCHITECTURE, UNIQUE CHARM, AND DELICIOUS CUISINE. DURING ONE OF HIS TRIPS TO THE CITY WITH HIS FATHER, THEY STARTED A RITUAL OF ENJOYING A BEER AT A PARTICULAR BAR TO KICK OFF THEIR ADVENTURE. AS THEY PONDERED ON A NAME FOR THEIR ESTABLISHMENT, A FORTUITOUS PHOTO APPEARED, REVEALING HUNTER AND HIS DAD WITH THEIR BEERS AND A NEON SION IN THE BACKGROUND THAT READ "FAIS DEAUX DEAUX." AS IF BY MAGIC, THE NAME FAIDODOS WAS BORN.
